Although there is a lot to expect from the Switch 2 and too little information to work with, a bigger power supply for the successor does make sense.

The dock with a cooler unit signal, however, might mean that a more powerful cooling system is needed during the charging phase. It also suggests positive things about the console’s streaming capabilities.

On top of that, the successor is expected to support NVIDIA’s game-changer DLSS Super Resolution technology alongside ray tracing, which does sound far-fetched on a handheld console.

But thanks to the Ampere GPU architecture, the Switch 2 will allow its users to utilize ray tracing on the go, provided that the leaks regarding the specs prove true, of course. The console will also be using Samsung’s 5th generation V-NAND cards that come with 1.4 GB/s of reading speed.

If true, these specs do render the highly-anticipated Switch successor a handheld beast. While the Nintendo Switch is still kicking in its final year, its successor will now dive into a boiling market with serious competition.

Everything about the console will hopefully come to light when Nintendo reveals more about the successor in March 2025, as stated by the company’s president, Shuntaro Furukawa.
