Healers are an essential part of any effective team in Marvel Rivals. Their main job is to keep their allies in the fight through their healing.
While some consistently heal allies primarily through their basic attacks like Luna Snow or Cloak and Dagger, others are more ability-based, relying more on giving teammates quick bursts of health. Adam Warlock is one of them.
With his power to manipulate cosmic forces, Adam Warlock is a beacon of justice and kindness, healing his allies through Quantum Magic and possessing the power to revive not just himself and his teammates.
In this guide, we’ll cover Adam Warlock’s abilities and go over the best tips and tricks for playing this character.

Adam Warlock Abilities
Despite his role as a healer, Adam Warlock can also deal a ridiculous amount of damage. Because his healing comes primarily from abilities, support characters like him are referred to as off-healers.
Adam shines best if you balance dealing good DPS and healing, as his primary and secondary fire can deal more damage than one would expect.
If we compare him with an Overwatch character, it would be Zenyatta, who is also a healer but can deal a lot of damage on his own.
|
Ability |
Description |
|---|---|
|
Quantum Magic |
Basic Attack. Launch a hitscan attack that deals 55 damage per shot, with a damage falloff at 20m reaching 50% at 40m. This attack can crit. |
|
Karmic Revival |
Ultimate. Revive allies within range for 10 seconds, centered on Adam. Continuously monitor for fallen allies within this range; if they enter the area, they will be revived at the casting location. Allies are revived with 100 health with a brief moment of invincibility. |
|
Soul Bond |
Adam tethers himself with allies within range, sharing a portion of the damage sustained. If Adam sustains damage that would KO him due to the link, then the link will be broken, and he will retain one health. The link will also break once enough damage is sustained, a certain time has passed, or if there’s too much distance between Adam and his allies. Has 15m radius. |
|
Avatar Life Stream |
Target an ally for a bouncing stream of healing energy, which also heals himself upon casting; self-targets if no ally is selected. Heals for 95 for allies and 35 for self. Has 2 charges that take 6 seconds to recharge. Target must be in line of sight. |
|
Cosmic Cluster |
Charge and release five projectiles from your basic attack ammo that deal 38 each. These projectiles do not crit. |
|
Regenerative Ciocoon |
When KO’d, Adam will freely move around as a soul and self-revive at a chosen spot. 105 second cooldown. |
Adam Warlock Offensive Strategies
Adam has a surprising amount of DPS potential, since each headshot deals 110 damage, potentially 3-shotting a Duelist or Healer. It’ll help you a great deal if you take some time to practice your hitscan aim.
- Before or during engagements, try to set up your charged attack in choke points or while peeking corners to make sure you land all pellets and catch your enemies off guard. If done right, you can easily melt an enemy’s health bar.
- Because your healing potential is very reliant on ability cooldowns, focus more on dealing damage with your teammates. You can’t spam your heals, but you certainly can deal poke damage to enemies.
- When attacking, prioritize isolated enemies like Duelists or Strategists who are separated from their team.
- Get to high ground for a better vantage point both for dealing damage and healing your allies.
- Since Soul Bond does not require line-of-sight, you can cast it as long as allies are nearby.
Adam Warlock Defensive Strategies
The best way to play defensively as Adam Warlock is to manage your Soul Bond and Life Stream abilities, all the while knowing when to best use your Ultimate, as it can very easily turn the tide of a losing fight.
- As you engage in a team fight, try to get as many teammates in a soul bond as possible to best mitigate the damage taken. It’s better to take hurt together than to suffer alone.
- Don’t be afraid to cast Soul Bond on any single teammate who’s in trouble. Despite the 30-second cooldown, it’s better to use it to save an ally than to let them die.
- Life Stream healing bounces around allies, prioritizing those with the least amount of health. Never use Life Stream on yourself unless you’re in a serious pinch, like if your self-revive is on cooldown or if you need to stay in the battle for your team.
- This is a no-brainer: stay with your team so you don’t get ganked by Duelists.
- If you die, try to find hidden locations to self-revive, but don’t revive if you’re swarmed or in the middle of a losing fight. You have the option to decline the revive and die normally so that you can regroup with your teammates. Sometimes, it’s better that way so that you can find a better moment to self-res.
- Don’t wait for big res moments. When a crucial teammate (like a tank or main healer) dies, use your Ultimate so that they can stay in the fight longer. This ability can save an objective if used correctly.
- When your teammates revive, make sure you have both your Soul Bond and Life Stream abilities ready (or notify your other healer) so that you can top their health back up before their brief invincibility wears off.
Adam Warlock Team-Up Abilities
As part of the Guardians of the Galaxy, Adam Warlock can share his powers of rebirth with Star-Lord and Mantis at no cost of his own.
With Soul Perseverance, Adam gains a 15% healing boost, which can offset his need to rely on ability cooldowns.
This is an incredibly powerful Team-Up ability, as Mantis and Star-Lord are really good in the current meta. With a built-in self-res, they, along with Adam, can become absolute menaces in any given battle.

Adam Warlock Counters And How To Deal With Them
Like any healer, Adam Warlock has a big target painted on his back, and because he lacks mobility to escape from his attackers, he can be easily taken out by any enemy fast and wily enough to flank him.
- Vanguard
- Duelist
- Black Panther
- Star-Lord
- Magik
- Iron Fist
- Spider-Man
- Strategist
Like any support, Adam Warlock is especially susceptible to any high-mobility enemy capable of diving and flanking. Your best bet is to stick with your team and practice your aim to quickly dispatch any enemy foolish enough to dive.
An enemy Loki could also be pretty tricky since he could copy your Ultimate and revive his whole team if he’s smart enough to do that. With that said, you need to take away Loki’s momentum and try to take him out before that happens.
Adam Warlock Team Compositions
Since Adam is an off-healer, you’ll need a main healer who can heal through their basic attacks or one who can heal much more frequently than you.
- Mantis
- Star-Lord
- Doctor Strange
- Groot
An ally Mantis can also share the load of healing the entire team with her Life Orbs while providing damage boosts and strong basic attacks.
Having Mantis and Star-Lord on your team will greatly improve your chances of success, primarily because you can share your self-revive passive.
Mantis is an incredibly strong healer in the current meta, and with Star-Lord’s powerful aimbot Ultimate, allowing these two teammates to self-revive at no cost of your Ultimate is a ridiculously powerful Team-Up ability.
Groot and Doctor Strange are strong Vanguards who can fight in the front and back lines, respectively. You can fill an empty Duelist slot with any Hero you deem necessary. I picked Iron Fist because he’s currently demolishing the meta.
