Nintendo Of Japan Decreases Salaries, But Still One Of The Country’s Best-Paying Companies In Japan
According to a ranking published by Japanese business journal Diamond Online (via Automaton), Nintendo of Japan’s annual salary decreased by 2.3% in the 2024 fiscal year, despite the company seeing a 4.4% hike in net sales, and a 4.9% boost increase in operating profit during the timeframe. The business publication postulates the salary decrease reflects the drop in net sales and net profit Nintendo daw saw in the 2023 fiscal year.
Nintendo of Japan has an average annual salary of 9.627 million yen (around $62,000 based on today’s exchange rates). With that figure, Nintendo came in second to semiconductor manufacturer Screen Holdings regarding the highest base salaries in the western region of Japan, which includes all companies in all industries that are ebased in Japan’s Kansai region (though excluding Osaka).
Nintendo was the only video game (or even entertainment) company to make it into the top five ranking.
