Deltarune creator Toby Fox has provided another positive update about the upcoming Chapter 3 & 4 release, with the game entering a new stage of console development that suggests a release is happening soon.


After spending several years in development, Fox has confirmed that Deltarune Chapter 3 & 4 are launching in 2025. When exactly in the year has yet to be revealed, which has become a point of contention among fans, as it could be anytime from today until December 31.

The time to return to the Dark World may be at hand, as Fox confirmed in a post on BlueSky that testing for the PlayStation 5 version of Deltarune Chapter 3 & 4 has officially begun.

The current versions of Deltarune are available on PC, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch systems, which means there are only a handful of platforms that need to be prepared for.

If work is starting on testing the PlayStation 5 version, then it means the game could rapidly be approaching release. The first two Deltarune chapters were relatively short, and if the next ones are similar, then it might mean the process is relatively short.

Deltarune fans have had to endure lengthy gaps between releases, so another injection of content is what they’ve been waiting dearly for. Hopefully the PS5 testing is one of the last hurdles before fans can return to the Dark World once more.
