Capcom is Making a Major Change in Development

Video game publisher/developer Capcom is seeing a major change in their corporate team.

According to VGC, Executive Corporate Officer Yoichi Egawa is resigning as of April 1st and stepping down from his role as the Chief Product Officer overseeing Capcom’s development divisions.

Monster Hunter Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto will replace him. Tsujimoto currently serves as the deputy in charge of Capcom’s development divisions. He first became a series producer for Monster Hunter in 2007, starting with the release of Monster Hunter Freedom 2.

He has been a developer on the Monster Hunter series since its inception, working on the online system direction and planning for the original Monster Hunter in 2004. The most recent Monster Hunter game, Monster Hunter Wilds, is another major hit for the series. After seeing mainstream success with Monster Hunter World, Capcom’s action-RPG about hunting monsters has been one of the most successful games in the industry.

Less than 24 hours after its launch, it surpassed one million concurrent players on Steam, with an all-time peak of nearly 1.4 million concurrent players.
