Jeff the Land Shark Creator Tells Marvel Rivals Players to Get Good

One of the most controversial heroes in Marvel Rivals is Jeff the Land Shark.

The strategist is small, agile, and best known for his ultimate ability to swallow everyone up and spit them off the edge of a map, instantly killing them.

Sufficed to say, people are never happy when they’re on the receiving end of this. However, they have no one to blame but themselves. Just ask Jeff the Land Shark creator Kelly Thompson, who spoke with Polygon recently.

Polygon asked them how Thompson would address Marvel Rivals players frustrated with Jeff’s annoying ultimate ability.

“What they call annoying,” she laughed, “I call a skills issue.”

She didn’t stop there, either.

“I think they should get better at the game. Sounds like a skills issue to me, if my boy is beating your ass every night. I mean, listen, he has an incredibly powerful ult; just accept it, become zen about it. Everyone’s got upsides and downsides, right?”

Throughout his history in comics, Jeff the Land Shark has had a variety of outfits that would make excellent in-game skins.

Thompson admits that there are seemingly endless options that NetEase can use for new skins that Jeff fans can use.

“He’s been a taco, he’s been a sheep, he’s been Grogu, he’s been Wolverine, he’s been everybody. He’s been Spider-Man. I do think — I’m not usually super into the Venom-ification of everything because it can really overwhelm, but he has merged with Venom in the comics, and he grew giant, punchy arms. So that would be fun to have in the game.”
