Sony learned this lesson the hard way back in the PlayStation 3 generation, as companies sometimes need to take a loss on hardware to get people buying their games, where they’ll make money back. Hopefully, Nintendo won’t price fans out of the market.
Naturally, Nintendo-exclusive franchises are the next big request, as the main reason people shell out for hardware is for games in the Super Mario Bros. and The Legend of Zelda franchises. If Nintendo announces new entries for them at the first Switch 2 Direct, then that’s guaranteed pre-orders right there.
It’s strange how different things are from when the Nintendo Switch was first announced. The failure of the Wii U meant that many people were unsure if Nintendo could pull itself back from the brink. It’s totally opposite with the Nintendo Switch 2, as fans are dying to own the new system based solely on the trust built up by its predecessor.
