We are pleased to announce the launch of the European Defence & Security Law & Policy Quarterly (EDSeQ), Lexxion’s newest publication dedicated to Europe and defence, security, and procurement law.
We are particularly honoured to have Simone Gariglio of the European Defence Agency serving as the journal’s Managing Editor, working alongside our editorial team to maintain the high quality that Lexxion readers expect. Together with our distinguished Editorial Board – comprising leading academics and practitioners from institutions across Europe and North America – their expertise will establish EDSeQ as a definitive resource for practitioners, academics, and policymakers throughout the European Union.
EDSeQ serves as an impartial platform for discussing the role of law and regulation in managing the challenges of creating an effective European defence framework and deepening the European defence market. The journal welcomes interdisciplinary scholarship analyzing legislative and policy developments in EU defence, security, and procurement governance, including significant court decisions from international, European, and national jurisdictions.
EDSeQ’s editors welcome submissions for our inaugural issue of the following:

We encourage authors to write on all major areas of European defence, security, and procurement law, economics, and policy. Priority topics include EU strategic autonomy and “buying European” initiatives, defence innovation and emerging technologies, legislative developments including recent amendments to procurement directives, collaborative procurement mechanisms, defence financing structures, supply chain and contract management, artificial intelligence applications, intellectual property rights management, military logistics and mobility frameworks, third-country market access, and export control regimes.
Country Correspondents Wanted
We are also seeking Country Correspondents to provide regular updates on defence and security law developments within their national jurisdictions. Country Correspondents contribute one annual report (2000-3500 words) analyzing key legislative changes, case law, and other noteworthy developments in their country’s defence procurement landscape.
Submission Guidelines
To guarantee EDSeQ’s high standards, all articles are subject to double blind peer review before acceptance for publication and are required to conform to the Author Guidelines available here.
Authors receive a free printed copy of the journal.
EDSeQ will be published four times yearly, online and in print.
