How To Unlock & Best Loadout

Season 2 Reloaded has dropped for Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone. This mid-season update sees the arrival of brand-new content for both games, including new in-game events, a new point of interest for Warzone’s Fortune’s Keep, a new killstreak, and a whole new Dark Aether Rift for Zombies. All these additions sound great, but the highlight of this update has to be the new SOA Subverter Battle Rifle.

The SOA Subverter is one of the many Battle Rifles to arrive for Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone. This weapon has a moderately steady vertical recoil, making it rather controllable for sustaining fire on a target, along with an effective damage range of up to 25 meters. Though not sporting the highest damage out of the weapons of its category, it does boast the highest fire rate – capable of taking out opponents in three to four shots without Armor Plates.

Unlocking The SOA Subverter

The SOA Subverter saw its arrival in Modern Warfare 3 Season 2 Reloaded, and can be acquired as a reward for completing 5 of the 7 Weekly Challenges for Week 5 of Season 2. There are a variety of different challenges for Multiplayer, Warzone, and Zombies, meaning that you do not need to stick to one mode to complete them. Once Season 2 is over, you can then unlock the SOA Subverter via the Armory.

There are also two alternative ways of acquiring the SOA Subverter outside the Weekly Challenge. The first is to loot and extract it from Modern Warfare Zombies. The second is to unlock a Blueprint Variant of it, which is often done through purchasing a Store Bundle.

Our first SOA Subverter build has been tailor-made specifically for Modern Warfare 3’s Multiplayer. Running the attachments in the table below will improve accuracy, recoil control, and handling – at the expense of a small amount of mobility.

Best Perk Package

The SOA Subverter is very much on par with most of the better Assault Rifles in the game, albeit with higher damage at the expense of recoil control. With that being the case, we went ahead and used much of the same Perks used for many of our other Assault Rifle loadouts. The Infantry Vest and Lightweight Boots aim to mitigate any reductions in mobility, whilst Scavenger Gloves and Mag Holster counter slow reload times and the loss of ammunition. Give it a try!

Secondary Recommendations

With a decently high TTK for Multiplayer, the SOA Subverter is well worth considering as your overall go-to weapon in your loadout. However, the low magazine does push players into needing a keen sense of accuracy to use it. With that being said, consider taking a weapon from the Handgun category to use when you are caught in a pinch at close range. Some of the best Handguns include the WSP Stinger, the TYR, and the Renetti.

For your Warzone loadout, however, make sure to capitalize on your ability to equip two Primary weapons. The SOA Subverter will dominate at mid to longer ranges thanks to its decent damage output and predictable recoil. This gives you room to rock a reliable Submachine Gun to use when engaging players up close. Some of the best Submachine Guns in the category include the WSP Stinger, the Striker, the Rival-9, and the RAM-9.
