In an interview with PAP Biznes, as reported by StrefaInwestorow.pl, Bloober Team CEO, Piotr Babieno, confirmed there was no connection between Take-Two’s terminated production and publishing agreement for the developer’s upcoming Project C and the team’s decision to walk away from its collaboration with affiliated company Draw Distance on Project M.

The first announcements concerning Project M were confirmed to appear later this year and the team is currently happy with the production of Project C. As we accelerate toward these reveals, Babieno considers the studio’s work on Silent Hill 2 to be a gateway into the team’s upcoming projects.

“Silent Hill 2 opens our portfolio of big games, while Project C is the first big IP in the company and we believe it will shake things up a lot in the market. It’s an intellectual property that we want to bet on a lot,” Babieno said and stated Bloober Team was “entering the forefront of the industry”. The CEO named Silent Hill 2 specifically as a turning point in the studio’s growth as a developer, explaining “Silent Hill 2 is a milestone and the beginning of a new portfolio of our games. Our industry partners already know about it.”

Babieno continued, “By creating Silent Hill, we are also creating a large community of recipients and fans, which we will later want to convert to our subsequent projects,” and he believed the remake perfectly showcased what the developer can do, stating “Silent Hill is supposed to show the market that we can create large-scale, high-quality games. Project C, on the other hand, significantly improves our formula and with it we want to take the next step.”

Finally, Babieno confirmed Bloober Team was working with “the world’s best game creators for Nintendo platforms,” fueling rumors that the studio is working on the mysterious horror title from the Japanese publisher teasing the ominous new character Emio, despite insiders shutting down the hype.
