All Cogheart Locations & How to Use Them

There are three Cogheart pieces that can be found in different places on the map in Hollow Knight: Silksong. The game provides almost no information on the purpose of these pieces, leaving the player wondering if they’re even worth hunting down.

After finding all three pieces, players have the opportunity to unlock a secret side quest that leads to a secret boss fight. If you’re a completionist and trying to do everything the game has to offer, you’re going to want to find all these Cogheart pieces.

Instead of running around aimlessly looking for the Cogheart pieces, take a second to read this guide. Here’s how to find all Cogheart Pieces and how to use them in Hollow Knight: Silksong.

Cogheart Piece Location #1: Choral Chambers

The first Cogheart piece can be found on the west side of the Choral Chambers. When you reach the location shown in the image attached, you’ll encounter a bell puzzle that requires you to strike the bells in the correct order.

Based on the image above, where I have labeled each bell with a number, the correct order for each stage of the puzzle is the following:

Sequence 1: 1, 5, 4, 6
Sequence 2: 3, 6, 5, 1, 7
Sequence 3: 2, 4, 6, 3, 5, 1

After completing the bell puzzle, you’ll earn the first Cogheart piece. With the first Cogheart in your possession, it’s time to make your way to the Whispering Vaults for the second one.

Cogheart Piece Location #2: Whispering Vaults

Cogheart Piece Location #2 in Hollow Knight Silksong

The next Cogheart piece can be found in the Whispering Vaults area of Hollow Knight: Silksong. Make your way to the location shown in the image, which is the southwestern part of the Whispering Vaults.

Similar to the other Cogheart piece, you need to solve a bell puzzle at this location to officially earn the piece. Based on the numbers in the image attached, the solution to the puzzle is the following:

Sequence 1: 1, 2, 7, 4
Sequence 2: 7, 5, 6, 4, 5
Sequence 3: 2, 7, 3, 5, 6, 1

After ringing that final bell, interact with the platform that rises from the ground to claim the second Cogheart piece in Hollow Knight: Silksong.

Cogheart Piece Location #3: Memorium

Cogheart Piece #3 Location Hollow Knight Silksong

The last Cogheart piece can be acquired on the eastern side of Memorium, as shown in the map image attached. Remember, Memorium can only be accessed once the player has unlocked the double jump ability.

To no surprise at all, you need to solve another bell puzzle when reaching this location in Memorium. Below is the answer to the bell puzzle to earn the last Cogheart piece.

Sequence 1: 6, 5, 4, 3
Sequence 2: 4, 5, 2, 4, 1
Sequence 3: 2, 7, 3, 5, 6, 1

Just like the other bell puzzles, once it is solved, a platform will rise from the ground that contains the final Cogheart piece in Hollow: Knight Silksong.

How to Use the Cogheart Pieces in Hollow Knight: Silksong

After collecting all three Cogheart pieces in Hollow Knight: Silksong, they can be used to activate the Second Sentinel in Cogwork Core. The Second Sentinel’s exact location is shown in the image below, indicated by the red arrow.

Once you inspect and insert the Cogheart pieces, you’ll free the Second Sentinel. Next, explore Choral Chambers to find the Second Sentinel fighting enemies in different locations. The appearance of the Second Sentinel is random, so make sure to thoroughly explore Choral Chambers until it appears.

After finding the Second Sentinel fighting enemies twice, return to Songclave to discover the Final Audience side quest on the Wish Board.

The Final Audience quest only becomes available after witnessing the Second Sentinel fighting enemies two times.
