Best Decks For Double Evolution Tournament

Although this week’s main event in Clash Royale is a draft game mode and does not allow you to try your luck with your own decks, the weekend tournament brings back the Double Evolution competition once more, where every player will have access to all normal and Evolution cards no matter if they have already unlocked them or not.

2v2 is a popular casual mode in Clash Royale and is a great way to create a chaotic scene on the battlefield and try out some wild ideas.

If you have already played it, Double Evolution could be quite a chaotic experience, especially if you know how to combine the Evolutions that work best next to each other. Also, you will now have the chance to try out Tesla Tower Evolution on a deck of your own before attempting to unlock it.

The rules of the Double Evolution tournament are the same as a Ranked match, except that you have two Evolution spots on your deck, and you are highly suggested to use them both. It’s important to put in Evolutions that not only work best with each other but also help the other cards in your deck as well.

Mortar & Firecracker Deck

  • Mortar (Elixir 4) [Evolution Spot]
  • Firecracker (Elixir 3) [Evolution Spot]
  • Little Prince (Elixir 3)
  • Tesla Tower (Elixir 4)
  • Giant (Elixir 5)
  • Zap (Elixir 2)
  • Fireball (Elixir 4)
  • Skeleton Army (Elixir 3)
  • Average Elixir Cost: 3.5

With this deck, you can use Giant both as a tank damage dealer and a massive distraction. You can either support Giant with Little Prince in behind and a Zap ready to be deployed for any possible spam units from the opponent.

On the other hand, you can wait for the double Elixir phase, spawn your Tesla Tower and Mortar next to each other – in a way that Mortar targets the crown tower – and then deploy Giant as a big distraction. This will help Mortar to do its job perfectly, while Giant takes all the damage and Tesla Tower protects the Mortar.

When your opponent’s crown tower is below 1000 HP, you can use Fireball as your only card against the crown tower and use all other cards to defend your own side of the battlefield.

Hog Cycle Deck

  • Skeletons (Elixir 1) [Evolution Slot]
  • Ice Spirit (Elixir 1) [Evolution Slot]
  • Ice Golem (Elixir 2)
  • Hog Rider (Elixir 4)
  • Musketeer (Elixir 4)
  • Fireball (Elixir 4)
  • Cannon (Elixir 3)
  • The Log (Elixir 2)
  • Average Elixir Cost: 2.6

The good old Hog Cycle has always been a great deck, even though players are now quite aware of this infamous deck and come prepared for the battle, Hog Cycle still has a high chance of working perfectly, especially if you enhance those 1-Elixir cost cards with the Evolution editions.

Ice Spirit and Skeletons are mostly used for distraction in the Hog Cycle, but in their Evolution form, they can be quite powerful, not only to distract but also to delay the attack further and deal some hefty damage to the opposing units on the battlefield.

Playing with Hog Cycle though, requires perfect timing in deploying the troops. You should always support your Hog Rider with the Ice Spirit and The Log to keep the path clear while saving the Musketeer and Cannon for the defensive scenarios and using the Ice Golem as your crucial distraction unit.
