Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2: Myths & Mortals introduces Ares, a new boss for players to defeat!
Zeus is one of the latest bosses to come to the island, and he’s no pushover. Fortunately, we can help you find and defeat him without a sweat. If you do beat him, you’ll be rewarded with some powerful items to aid you in battle!
Zeus Boss Location
If you’re looking to take down Zeus, then you’ll want to start by heading to Mount Olympus. Bosses work a little differently this season. In the past, bosses would patrol their designated location. It was easy to accidentally run into a boss, or their many minions, and get overwhelmed. Now, bosses need to be summoned. While exploring Mount Olympus, look for a pedestal with a statue of Zeus on it. Interact with the statue and your character will smash it. This will summon Zeus and begin the boss fight.
The four new locations on the map are extremely popular, and that’s unlikely to change anytime soon. The new bosses, medallions mythics, and quest objectives are all pulling people into those four key areas of the map. In addition to that, Olympus and Underworld chests guarantee great loot for players looking to load up on gear. Definitely be cautious when dropping on these areas.
How To Beat Zeus
In addition to triggering the boss fight differently, the boss fights themselves have also been revamped. Each boss fight has three distinct stages, and you’ll need to be prepared for each one. During stage one of the Zeus fight, Zeus will come for you guns blazing. He can rise into the air and use this thunderbolt attack, so watch out for that. During stage two, Zeus kneels on the ground and protects himself with a lightning barrier. There’s no use trying to break through that barrier. Instead, focus on the minions that will begin to appear. Once you kill enough minions, Zeus will heal, power up, and rejoin the fight. This beefed up version of Zeus can rise into the air and charge you with a devastating strike. When he’s in the air, take advantage of his vulnerability and shoot him as much as possible.
Other players are likely to be on the hunt for Zeus as well. He is, quite possibly, the most tempting of all the new bosses. When you move to attack Zeus, be wary of other players lurking nearby. It’s becoming a common strategy for enemies to wait nearby and allow someone else to trigger the boss fight before moving in to attack both the player and the boss. If possible, move toward the rear of the boss arena and keep your back to a wall. It won’t prevent a player from attacking you, but it will make you more aware of your surroundings.

Rewards For Defeating Zeus
Zeus drops a bunch of great items, including the Thunderbolt of Zeus mythic power, a mythic version of the Huntress DMR, and his medallion. Zeus medallion heightens your ability to run and jump while sprinting. It’s extremely useful for mobility, and deadly when you’re moving toward unsuspecting foes. While this isn’t an ability that deals direct damage, it has plenty of utility.
Since medallions have experienced a bit of a power jump, you may be tempted to collect them all and reign supreme on the battlefield. You can certainly do that, but keep in mind that stacking medallions further pinpoints your location on the map. The more medallions you find, the easier you are to spot. Other players may be drawn to you like a moth to a flame. Then again, if you’re confident in your abilities, this might be the perfect way to stack up loads of eliminations.
