Epic Games could be gearing up to add a new picture-in-picture feature to Fortnite, according to data miners. The new feature would allow the user to link their Fortnite account to their social media accounts and watch, like, and even report videos.
For those who might not know, picture-in-picture has become a popular feature over the years. Mobile apps such as YouTube often allow the user to continue watching videos in a smaller window whilst they continue to use their mobile device, whether it’s to scroll through Twitter, send emails, reply to texts, the possibilities are endless.

While no game has ever allowed players to use a picture-in-picture feature before, Sony does allow picture-in-picture on the PlayStation 5 with certain apps. The apps that allow picture-in-picture on the PlayStation 5 are limited, but it is possible to play YouTube videos whilst playing a game on the console.
But what about if you’ve ever wanted to scroll through TikTok while playing Fortnite? Well, that may soon be a reality.
Fortnite Dataminers Uncover Picture-In-Picture Feature
Following the release of Fortnite’s v29.20 update earlier this week, data miner and reliable leaker HYPEX uncovered files that appear to hint at a possible picture-in-picture feature. According to the leaker, Epic Games is currently working on a new picture-in-picture feature “where you can link your Fortnite account to some platforms and watch videos while playing.”
HYPEX also speculated that TikTok may be one of the social media accounts supported by Fortnite’s picture-in-picture feature, mainly due to the included options for the feature found in the game files.
Funnily enough, this isn’t the first time that a reference to a picture-in-picture feature has been discovered in Fortnite’s files. According to GMatrixGames, the last time this feature was being worked on by Epic, its main focus was TikTok integration, allowing users to link their accounts to watch, like, and report videos.
The feature was reportedly scrapped but has now reappeared following the game’s latest update. Whether or not it will actually see the light of day, however, is unknown.
