How To Quickly Earn Reputation

The unique Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii is a bit more complex than it seems. While it may not feature as many in-depth game mechanics as a full-blown lengthy RPG, it’s far from being a straightforward, linear experience either.

Players will still need to improve Majima if they want to fully enjoy the pirate life. Some of the most important ways to do that are by bolstering your crew, equipping them with the best skills, and achieving the highest Pirate Rank: Legends of the Sea, all of which can require a plethora of Reputation points.

Reputation is a crucial stat that you should focus on increasing, as it can make your experience in the game feel like a breeze.

  • A high-reputation Majima will be able to recruit new crew members like Natasha and Osakana-chan, who wouldn’t have joined otherwise.
  • It’s also required to unlock various abilities that can’t be purchased with money alone, such as Wild Blade: Ultimate Counter, Max Health Boost Plus, Attack Boost Plus, and more. These abilities are crucial for making your party as powerful as it can be, so you’ll want to boost your Reputation as quickly as you can.

So, if you’re aiming to be the best pirate possible, focusing on increasing your reputation is a must.

You’ll also be able to increase your crew’s Pirate Rank once you’ve gained a certain amount of Reputation.

Before doing anything else, make sure to equip the Ring of Blossom Thumb Ring, as it grants a buff that increases the amount of reputation you earn. You can obtain this ring from a Treasure Chest, available for 1,500 points at the Dragon Kart Race Prize Exchange. Dragon Kart is found at Anaconda Harbour Park.

A Treasury of Treasures

The fastest and most efficient way to increase your Reputation is by collecting Treasures. While it’s possible to collect some treasures early on, I highly recommended waiting until you acquire the Chain Hook, which you’ll obtain as part of the main story in Chapter 2: Heart of Darkness.

Strengthen your merry band of Goro Pirates in Pirate Yakuza with our guide to quickly leveling them up.

There are a total of 65 treasures to find in the Treasury of Treasures, making this the best method to increase Reputation. While other methods also provide a solid boost, I found that treasure hunting stands out as the most rewarding.

The amount of Reputation gained from treasures varies greatly. The lowest reward is 1,300 Reputation Points, while the highest can reach up to 800,000. For perspective, unlocking Max Health Boost Extreme 10 — one of the most expensive upgrades — requires 220,000 Reputation Points.

Once I had obtained the Chain Hook ability, I searched for an online guide to help me collect as many treasures as possible. I didn’t want to waste hours checking every nook and cranny.

Completing Challenges

Another effective way to boost your Reputation is by completing Challenges. A helpful tip is to focus on challenges that don’t require you to go out of your way. Many of them can be completed naturally through regular gameplay, like walking a certain distance, taking taxis or trolleys a specific number of times, dining out multiple times, and more.

I just played the game naturally and found that many challenges auto-completed. So don’t waste your time by trying to complete a specific challenge.

Passing Exams at Ounabara Vocational School

Another solid way to increase your Reputation involves taking exams at the Ounabara Vocational School. This method requires a bit of knowledge and a small investment.

To pass an exam, you’ll need to answer at least three questions correctly. Successfully passing all the exams will reward you with 50,000 Reputation points. Just make sure you have enough money to cover the entrance fee.

You can also gain Reputation while exploring Honolulu by creating Aloha Links. All you need to do is wave to people as you walk around. While each interaction only grants 50 Reputation points, it gradually adds up over time and can make a noticeable difference.

  • Converting a Friend into a Buddy will net you 500 Reputation Points.

I found this method to be the best passive way to gain Reputation as all I had to do was run around the map and greet people. It reminded me of how I used to increase my Honor Level in Red Dead Redemption 2.

By combining all these methods, you’ll be able to rapidly increase your Reputation in no time and make your journey as a pirate mostly smooth sailing.
