After a three-week delay, Dune: Awakening is ready to launch for early access on June 5th, and full launch on June 10th. Norwegian game developer and publisher, Funcom, has released a map outlining exactly when you’ll be able to get your hands on the upcoming survival MMO in every time zone.

Is The Dune: Awakening RTX 3070 Minimum Requirement Going To Keep You Away From Playing?

As games become increasingly complex, the minimum system requirements are growing, which means added expenses for PC gamers who already shell out thousands of dollars for their rigs. I’m curious if the high system requirements will keep anyone from playing Dune: Awakening. As a gamer with a 3070ti, I plan to give it a try, but I’m pretty sure performance is going to suffer. Funcom has also recently revealed that the development of private servers has started to progress faster than expected, and will now be available for rental when early access arrives. After a slight hiccup leading up to launch, IGN‘s Travis Northup says, “Funcom has the foundations of an absolutely stellar survival MMO”.

The Dune: Awakening team has also been responding to questions from the community and have posted some of their responses on Steam. Here is one example where a Dune fan asks about future roadmaps for the new MMO.

“Keeping players informed about the state of the game and future development is very important to us, and we will be sharing information on future updates when ready. We do have a list of planned content, but we will be keeping eyes and ears out for input from the community at launch as well. So along with this planned content, we want to also incorporate your ideas and feedback into those updates as well,” Funcom responded.

IGN’s Travis Northup participated in the Dune: Awakening closed-beta and although it wasn’t perfect, after 20 hours of gameplay, Northup says “I’m confident developer Funcom has the foundations of an absolutely stellar survival MMO that makes fantastic use of one of the greatest science fiction worlds ever created – if it can squash all of its bugs (and we don’t just mean sandworms).”
