Xbox Game Pass Rumored To Be Preparing Biggest Stealth Drop Of All-Time

Summary

  • Rumors suggest a major stealth drop is coming to Xbox Game Pass, possibly the Oblivion remake.
  • Reliable leakers hint at a big Xbox Game Pass reveal, targeting next month for a possible shadow drop.
  • If the Oblivion remake is announced, it is expected to be part of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

With how excellent the Xbox Game Pass service has been and how it gives gamers a way to play new games without breaking the bank, a new rumor has surfaced that it might even get better.

Reliable leaker eXsta1s has teased that there’s one massive stealth drop headed to the subscription service soon. For those unfamiliar with a “stealth drop” or “shadow drop,” it’s when companies release a game/product out of nowhere without an announcement or even tease.

The “Biggest Xbox Game Pass Stealth Drop Is One Title That Was Never Announced But Has Been Rumored Before

The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion

The latest leaked info from eXstas!s mentions, “A surprise shadowdrop (probably one of the biggest if not the biggest in XBOX Game Pass history) is COMING, and it can happen at any moment!” While nothing has been mentioned regarding what this supposed Xbox Game Pass game is, there have been rumors floating around that Bethesda is working on a remake of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and that it’ll be released very soon.

Reliable leaker NateTheHate tweeted it last month stating, “As plans stand: Both the release and reveal are targeting next month (April). The gap between the reveal and release will be minimal — a shadow drop is possible.”

As you can see, people have combined two and two and concluded that this “biggest” Xbox Game Pass release is a remake of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Given the leakers’ reliability, this is not a far-fetched idea.

Of course, please don’t take what we say here as fact. Like any rumor, treat this with a grain of salt for now.

Back From The Dead? Key Xbox Exclusive Believed to be Cancelled is Still in Development

This 2021 Xbox exclusive has been laying low for the past few years, but a recent job posting confirms it’s still in active development.

When and if this Oblivion remake gets announced, expect it to be part of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and not on any other tier. Of course, it should be available for sale separately, which most people might opt for, given that it is Oblivion.

For those who are unfamiliar with the action-RPG, it was released in 2006 on PC and Xbox 360, followed by a (very buggy) PS3 released in 2007. It’s the fourth mainline Elder Scrolls game and continues the open-world gameplay established by its predecessors. It’s considered one of Bethesda’s best releases and is only rivaled by its follow-up, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Will we see The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion announced this month? I sure hope so. We’re approaching the midpoint of April, and if Microsoft plans to announce and release it within the month, it needs to get moving.
