Most Call of Duty fans are busy having fun with the new Black Ops 6campaign, but things are starting to look up in the multiplayer side as well.
Developer studio Treyarch posted an updated short roadmap on social media today, which confirms rumors about the next updates.
Infected Tomorrow
The first big update to Call of Duty Black Ops 6 will be the addition of the Infected mode, coming October 29. This popular party mode is a spin-off from an April Fools’ joke, and was introduced in the original Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3.
In a nutshell, Infected has one of the players being ‘infected’, and their job is to hunt down and infect others.
The game goes on until there is only one uninfected player left, at which point their position is revealed to the infected. The survivor’s job is simple: stay alive until the timer runs out.

Treyarch has stayed quiet on the specifics of the Infected mode for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 thus far, but the expectation is that it will function the same as the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III version.
After having fun with the Infection mode, Friday brings back a fan favorite map from previous Black Ops games. Yes, you guessed it, it’s Nuketown time.
Nuketown 24/7
Nuketown is a tiny map that models a cul-de-sac in a stereotypical American mid-century suburb. The map was built to simulate the effects of a nuclear explosion in typical American residential areas, and has earned a reputation for being CQB heaven over the years.

Nuketown evokes core memories in most people who grew up on Black Ops online, so the hope is that Black Ops 6 will do this work of art justice.
The Call of Duty social media account has dropped snippets here and there about the classic map, and it looks like the Black Ops 6 Nuketown is going to be modeled on the original look, after Black Ops: Cold War tried a different approach to it.
Many players are hoping that the coming of Nuketown a week after release is a sign that other fan favorite maps will also be included as development continues.
