Fallout London Developers “Waiting For The Green Light” To Release The Mod

Highlights

  • Fallout: London mod is nearing completion and awaiting QA testing from GOG.
  • The mod exceeds Nexus Mods’ size limit, so it will be hosted and distributed by GOG.
  • The mod’s release was delayed due to Fallout 4’s next-gen update and compatibility requirements.

The highly-anticipated Fallout 4 total conversion mod Fallout: London is almost ready to go according to Team FOLON, the developers behind the ambitious project.

In a post released yesterday, Team FOLON revealed that the final build of Fallout: London has been sent to GOG for QA testing, and they’re waiting on the ‘final green light’ before they release the mod (thanks, GamesRadar+).

“There has been a lot of speculation regarding our upcoming release, and we wanted to open up and clear the air for our core supporters,” the statement reads.

Mind The Gap

“The bottom line is that we sent several builds over to GOG for QA testing and are waiting for the final green light. Once they’ve completed the process of double-checking that Fallout: London and its installer work on all supported machines, we should be good to go.”

Fallout: London is between 30-40GB, exceeding the size limit for mods on Nexus Mods. So, Team FOLON is working with digital storefront GOG to host and distribute the mod.

We speak to the creators of the ambitious Fallout 4 total conversion mod set in London, which is launching soon.

“It is an all of our interests that this final QA process is carried out in full, and we are very thankful that GOG is assisting. While it may seem like not a lot is going on, we can assure you that the heads of the department have been working non-stop behind the scenes during this time to make the release build as good as it can be. The end is in sight,” the post concludes.

The project’s release was previously delayed after the announcement of Fallout 4’s next-gen update, a major patch from Bethesda that would require all mods to be updated for compatibility purposes, including the Fallout 4 Script Extender, a crucial framework of Fallout: London.

Fallout: London is fully voice-acted, with a plethora of new assets. There’s a factions page on Team FOLON’s website where you can get some quick insight into the mod’s narrative.
